We're excited to announce two upcoming releases on Paradigms for August. Watch out for the self titled cd from MURMUURE from France. Their heavy, fuzzed out, psychedelic Black Metal is already causing quite a stir and as soon as you hear this mesmerizing album, you will know why! MOURNER hail from Nashiville, Tennessee and their Paradigms debut will crush your Summer. Nihilistic, harrowing monolithic uber-doom down-tempo bleakness is assured. Congratulations to New York's TITAN who have just announced their signing to Relapse Records. They are currently recording their new album and their Paradigms debut is still available from our webstore. Also, we have decided to extend the Paradigms Recordings relocation sale throughout the Summer, so you'll be able to pick up some bargains from our catalogue for a while yet.

Our second release today is the debut album, "Philosopher Of The Sublime", from England's Orpheus which heralds the coming of a new, valiant force in the vibrant leftfield metal underground. KRÜGERS MEDBRAGTE - "Den Sindsyge Broders Bon" CD out now

We're pleased to announce the release of our first two editions of 2010, both out today exclusively via Paradigms. The first is the sublime debut album from Norway's Krügers Medbragte. "Den Sindsyge Broders Bon" is an instrumental soundtrack of Nordic death tango. Guitars, banjo, upright bass, accordion, musical saws and percussion interweave a glorious folkloric journey which reminds us of an unnerving Weimar Republic cabaret troupe or an intoxicated Tom Waits rattling out a musical accompaniment to old, fireside murder ballads.

WESTERING - "Help A Body" CD out now

Our second release today is Westering's "Help A Body" debut album - a powerful, voidic journey through low-fi outsider black metal laced with cascading shoegaze and driving post punk. Based in Seattle and New York, Westering have created a cold, urban dreamscape of isolationist black metal, claustrophic ambience filtered through a haze of frozen bliss and driving rhythms and percussion that remind us of early Cure or Joy Division in part. A wonderful headphone experience for appreciators of Lifelover, Amesoeurs, Alcest and Swans, perhaps. Mastered by Mell Dettmer (Sunn O)), Wolves In The Throne Room) and presented in beautiful, minimalist wrap around card sleeve and wallet. Limited edition of 500 copies only. England's ORPHEUS sign to Paradigms. Debut album due in the Spring

We're also very pleased to announce the signing to Paradigms of England's ORPHEUS, who's staggering debut album "Philosopher Of The Sublime" will be released in the Spring. Truly epic, powerful and arcane atmospheric metal to enflame all Pagan hearts. A very exciting prospect indeed. Watch for further announcements and news.

"DEATH AESTHETICS" compilation OUT NOW!

We've very pleased to unveil the Christmas Eve release of the "Death Aesthetics" compilation cd on Paradigms Recordings. This beautifully crafted album has been our labour of love throughout 2009 and has been carefully compiled as a somber, introspective and joyous soundtrack to those long, candlelit winter evenings. Featuring 15 of our favourite esoteric musical finds from the past year into one rich tapestry of dark folk, shimmering electronica, haunting modern composition, cascading krautrock and spectral songcraft, "Death Aesthetics" encapsulates the true vision of the Paradigms label.

The tracklisting includes many special bands that will be new to you, so enjoy and investigate. The wonderful artists within include Fever, Electroluminescent, Owlfood, Korouva, Lost Lockets, Hexvessel, Nebelung, Gustav Franklin, Silentist, Nothing, Krügers Medbragte, Goatfooted, The Paper Hats, Vurgart and Ga'an.

It's also worthy of note that Hexvessel is the sinister horror folk debut of Dodheimsgard / Code vocal magician Kvohst. Expect more genius from this gentleman shortly. Silentist is also a special addition to this project for us, with mastermind Mark Evan Burden being a member of Paradigms favourites, Get Hustle. And specially packaged in a new, custom Paradigms logo wallet and "Death Aesthetics" wrap-around card sleeve, we've particularly proud of this project. To coincide with this release, we're also excited to issue an exclusive new Paradigms Recordings label t-shirt - featuring a brand new label logo design commissioned for this garment. A bold, minimal label identity developed by Holy Mountain Media and printed on heavy black Gildan shirts, the design of which can be seen immediately below. Today we're pleased to unveil the debut release from ELITIST. Venomous doom grind horror from Portland, Oregon.

The raw, blackened energy and sonic power of this band really do suggest something very special is lurking here. It kind of gives us the feral excitement that cutting edge extremists like Burning Witch and Nasum have given us in the past. Slow, fast, colossally heavy and effortlessly executed basement crust metal punk. 5 vital tracks to rip faces. You will be hearing much more from these guys. Watch out for a future Elitist / Transient split album coming out on Paradigms too.

HEART IN MOUTH "The Bigger Picture" CD OUT NOW!

We also have the pleasure today of releasing the debut cd album "The Bigger Picture" from HEART IN MOUTH. Vast, beautiful cosmic French electronica / prog isolationism, deep tones and rich textured cathedrals of sound.

Almost choral in places, epic and bombastic with chiming bells and pulsing tones to dark, glacial ambient electronica that is pure astral. Hints of classic European avant-prog (Magma, Univers Zero) are subtely apparent throughout too. "The Bigger Picture" is a great triumph in modern composition; inspiring, emotional and provocative to the senses. Reminds us of the wonderful Bel Canto in places (and then obviously following on to Biosphere) - it's dark, spiraling melodies and intricate instrumenation send our minds to far off places and give us goose bumps. Delightful.

The second album from Germany's WOBURN HOUSE. Entitled "Monstrous Manoeuvres In The Mushroom Maze", this recording takes the band's already transcendental music to even greater heights.

Beautifully crafted, adventurous and inspiring - this unique band are always tough to pin down. We can hear the forward thinking bliss of the finest European avantgarde metal, epic songwriting around earthy, organic tones and the cascading, bass driven drift of classic early Lungfish. A truly exciting proposition which amazes us more each time we hear it. And all wrapped up in beautiful artwork painted by Toby Driver of Kayo Dot and mastered by the sound genius of Tom Kvålsvoll (Strype Audio).
